More women than ever before are turning to golf, both as their sport of choice and as an invaluable source of networking.

Whether you're putting for par or just beginning, Golf-a-round Leagues offers Ottawa women from all walks of life and skill levels a forum to meet new women golfers, cultivate friendships and business opportunities, and play a regular game of golf in a gracious, kind and non-competitive atmosphere.

Various Leagues across the region

In just over eight years, GAL has expanded from a weekly round of golf for four friends, to more than 500 women of varying playing levels teeing off in 25 different leagues and 16 golf courses across the region.

Beginners just discovering the game learn the basics through group lessons and special "etiquette clinics" at the Thunderbird Golf Course or Raceview Golf Course, while intermediate and advanced golfers master the links at some of the area's top fairways, including Amberwood, Cedarhill, Chateau Cartier, Emerald Links, Glen Mar, Manderley, Meadows and Metcalfe.

For those who prefer variety, our travelling leagues allow members to tour the links at courses like Emerald Links, Glen Mar, Hautes Plaines, Kanata, Predator, Stonebridge, Talon and the Marshes. (See Programs and Registration for schedules).

Organized, convenient - and fun!

GAL understands how busy most women are these days. That's why we always make it as easy as possible to fit a little golf into your hectic schedule.

Leagues are available across the city, on different days of the week, and during mornings, afternoons or evenings. Tee-off times are booked at your course for the next week. Your start times are guaranteed.

Travelling leagues (alternating at 6 or more courses) are given a schedule with a detailed map of the course locations and estimated travel times to help with planning.

The après golf dining, conversation and networking as well as day and weekend trips all round out the allure of your Golf-a-round Leagues experience. The season finale? A tournament where all the leagues play together.
